She was an Elementary teacher in the Ft. Worth Independent School District for 18 years. In 1974 she became an Adult Basic Education Teacher for the Ft. Worth Skill / Learning Center at FWISD and retired in 1991. However, she continued to teach GED and ESL part-time to undereducated adults in Tarrant County at the Jail System, Libraries, and at Goodwill Industries for another decade. The Texas Association for Continued Adult Education named her “Teacher of the Year” in 1976. She is a former member of First United Methodist Church of Ft. She was a Christian that enjoyed dancing, music, college football, reading, and playing cards. Ann was passionate about nature and animals. She was an active member of the World Wildlife Foundation, and the Arbor Day Foundation. She received Certificates of Appreciation for her support from St. Joseph’s Indian School; the Navigators; World Vision; and The Special Olympics. She was often seen outside on the wooded lawn of her home in Arlington, TX with her dogs, raccoons, and peacock. Her home of 43 years was filled with antiques, inspirational messages, and spiritual markers from the Bible. She was a generous person that gave love, money, and even shelter to those in need. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and compassionate spirit.
From 1953 to 1974, she was married to Frank E. Brock (deceased), and raised their two children, Randal (deceased), and Lynne Anne. She was preceded in death by her son, Randal E.
