Rita was a key part of our BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) group last year. It became our habit to ask her to be the first to answer the last question, where she listed out all the character traits of God she saw in each chapter of John. She challenged us all to linger over the passage and go beyond a one word answer. She gave THE best hugs. We love her and feel shocked she won't be standing at her post, greeting and helping seat 800 women for opening and lecture. She was open, genuine, and never pretentious. Our 15 member group all love her.

My name is Nerissa Lee and I was a very good friend of Ms. Rita J. Rabon-Howell. We spent a lot of time together, in and out of the church.

To the family I would like to leave these wise words, "No storm is so great, no wave is so high, and no wind is so strong that God can't calm it and bring you through it. This world is not our home. We are strangers passing through. We are going to a place where there is no more suffering, pain, or tears. God closed the Earthly door, but opened the Heavenly door."
