It was an honor serving Ron May through the Dallas VA. Early in our friendship, we took a trip to Iowa to attend the Tee Tournament for veterans. I was Ron's golf buddy, helping spot his ball and guide him toward each hole. On one hole, I described his shot over a tree for the most direct way to the green. He hit a great shot and made it over that tree....only to hit into another tree I somehow didn't notice, being so focused and intent on getting over the first tree. Boy did we laugh about that and he often gave me a hard time thereafter about making sure I knew what I was talking about regarding any given subject! Ron had such a great sense of humor and positive attitude, despite his physical/health limitations. Miss that guy.
