Roscoe Blountt's Obituary
I referred to him as Ross. We were introduced by my youngest brother Chris and married Jan 17, 2004 after dating for 6 months. Originally from Clarksdale MS, we moved to Texas in 2004. We have one child together, our 12 year old daughter Logan. Ross stepped into the role of dad to my oldest daughter Raegan when she was 10. He also has 3 other children from previous relationships... 1 son LeMarcus Perry, 2 daughters Kiara Blount and Kayla Hawkins.
Ross was a jack of all trades. After spending almost 20 years in retail, he ventured into manufacturing and logistics. But what he's remembered best for is his love for God, his wife and family, horses, and dance. There was no
question of the love shared between Ross and Elaina. You hardly ever saw one without the other. And he would rearrange the sun before he missed an opportunity to see baby girl dance. In a ballroom filled with dance moms, "Mr Roscoe" was THE Dance Dad.
"Ross", "Peco", "Scoe", "Mr Roscoe", "Mr Big" were all names given to him by those who knew and loved him. And they were many. He never met a stranger and could befriend a rock.
Roscoe was a disciplined man of God having graduated Men of Joshua class 12. He took that seriously and never hesitated to share the word with others.
Roscoe was a member of Koinonia Christian Church for 12 years until his
death.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Survived by wife, children, 2 brothers Douglas Blount and Ashley Gipson, 1 sister Nneka Gipson, 2 brothers-in-law, Chris Pittman and Ayl Gross, 5 sisters-in-law Everlyn Garner, Valarie Kirkwood, Janice Smith, Karen Lias, Sharon Harrington, his Godmother Wilma Jean Watkins, Godsister Cynthia Rodolph, and a host of other family and friends.
