The Life of Ruby “Ruby Jane” Bush
Ruby was born in Longview, Texas on May 27, 1932, to two loving parents, Mitchell Hubbard and Jossie Hubbard. She was one of three children. She cherished her two brothers, Bobby and Harold.
Ruby met James “Bernard” Bush as a teen in Longview. They had five children together, Karen, James “Pookie”, Eric, Daryn, “Tootie” and Billy. Ruby had a son, Michael from another relationship, which they raised together.
Ruby cherished being a Mother and was a great Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Auntie and friend. She always made a way to help anyone that she could.
Ruby was an avid gardener. She could grow anything! Her love for sports was amazing! Her favorite sports team was The Dallas Cowboys!! We can always remember her saying “How About Them Cowboys” when we see anything that has to do with the Cowboys. She loved Golf, Tiger Woods, Tennis, The Williams Sisters, and Basketball, Kobe Bryant and many more.
Her children were raised to play a variety of sports and she supported any of their choices. She was even the President for Pop Warner Football League when her sons were young football players.
What a full and amazing 94 years of life for this Amazing Woman!!
Ruby lived most of her life in the Los Angeles, CA area.
She moved back to Texas in 2007 and enjoyed her life with her kids,, grandkids and great grandkids. She made many friends in Texas and they got to know what it was like to be in the presence of a special person. She was straight to the point, funny, and said what she thought and you knew exactly what she was thinking about you or whatever situation she was in.
She was proceeded in Death by Her Mother and Father Jossie and Mitchell, Husband, Bernard, Brothers, Bobby and Harold, Sons, Michael, James and Daryn. She leaves behind to cherish Her Memory her immediate family: Daughter, Karen Valentine and Husband Ellis : Son, Eric Bush and Fiance Kanani Kroll: Son, Billy Bush and Wife Toni. Grandchildren, Tynisa and Aaron Collins and Wife Andriana, Jimmy and Aaron Bush, Kelli White and Wendell White, Jordan Valentine, Kristen and Ryan Bush, Michon and Grayson Bush. Great Grandchildren Wendell Jr and Kassidie White, Imani and Isaiah Bush and Ricardo Robles, Micah, Malachi and Mathew Collins, Moroni, Sarai,Marley and Elijah Bush
A private Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026
