Dr. Sarah Boutwell Johnson's Obituary
It is with great sadness for our family that our dear Dr. Sarah Boutwell Johnson, age 46, passed away suddenly, at home on May 31, 2021.
Sarah was born on September 23rd 1974 in Dallas TX to William Lee Boutwell, III and Donna Herrington Boutwell. Sarah married Travis Roy Johnson in Dallas on July 4th 1998. The couple have a son, Andrew Lee Johnson.
Sarah graduated from Lamar High in Paris, TX and went on to earn the B.A., Psychology degree from University of Texas at Arlington in 1997. Her M.S., Counseling degree was completed at Texas A&M at Commerce in 2000. She completed Ph.D., Educational Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.
Sarah grew up in Cedar Hill, Commerce and Paris as an energetic athlete, curious student and band member known for her positive attitude and personality. She set high goals and achieved much success. Sarah applied her full energy to being a world class mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin and a gracious friend to others. Sarah was always a key contributor to any organization that she served with her heart and time generously. Sarah and Travis have created memories together, with friends where they have lived in El Paso, Lufkin and currently Mansfield, Tx. She also had a special connection with her Louisiana relatives.
Sarah’s interests included making memories and experiences for her family through great activities like family sports activities, family reunions, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, and traveling to many fun places to explore.
Dr. Sarah B. Johnson taught courses with the American Public University System, and served the Dallas Community College System in several capacities. She has been serving as the Human Resources Director, an integral part of the development & successful growth of Broadband Telecom Services. She dedicated herself as a key contributor to the daily and strategic activities during the last 15 years. She took great pride in her involvement in key decisions that lead to success of BTS.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Travis, and son Andrew, parents, Lee and Donna Boutwell, her brother Ben Boutwell and wife Kerri, nephew Dylan, niece Madysen.
Also, Father and Mother-in-law Duane and Kathleen, brothers-in-law – David Johnson and wife Gina, and Trevor Johnson. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins and extended family.
Sarah was preceded in death by her precious grandparents, Otis and Lou Herrington and William and Margarette Boutwell.
