I met Mr.Keys a few years ago when I used to go visit my Cousin(Tomonique) who lives near me in Dallas. Every-time I went to his house I would look forward to talking to Mr.Keys. We would sit in the living room and talk about cars for hours and I even learned new things about cars from him. There were even a few times where we would go on rides in his C7 Corvette. I even drove about an hour to his house and spent time with him then helped clean the Corvette. I will never forget those days. I looked at Mr.Keys as a second grandfather since he reminded me so much of my grandfather who passed nearly 3 years ago. You will truly be missed! - Jaylen Lacy
Larry was an answer to a prayer. My dad, JB, had moved to Irving after the passing of my mother and living 40+ years in the same house. He was feeling a bit lonely and wishing he had a friend. One day Larry passed my dad’s patio and stopped to chat. They became fast friends and the breakfast and dinner adventures ensued. Rest in Peace Larry, you will forever be in our hearts.
One of my funniest memories of Cousin Lawrence was when I saw him at Midtown in SA years ago.
He wouldn't let any of the guys he knew talk to me or dance with me, and if he didn't want to be bothered by some of the women he would dance with me or stand there with his arm around my shoulder. He would see a guy coming and say "nope not that one" or "tell that one no". Sometimes he would tell them "naw man, you can't dance with my cousin". We had a great time that night laughing and dancing, but he was definitely my security that night!
My fondest memory of Uncle Lawrence was taking me for a spin in his new Corvette, he even punched it on the interstate to show me how fast it could go, lol. We always talked about our “war wounds” since I had my car accident, we even compared our walkers at one time. RIH Uncle Lawrence, you will be missed.
