Today, we say goodbye to the woman who was the heart of our family—one of our matriarchs, our steady presence, my beautiful Aunt Shirley.
She stepped in for me and Caysen in ways that only love could explain. With open arms and a nurturing spirit, she helped fill the gaps that life sometimes leaves. Her care was quiet but powerful, a constant source of strength, especially in the moments we needed it most.
Aunt Shirley didn’t just tend to people—she tended to life. Her hands were always in the soil, coaxing beauty out of the earth. Her pond was a reflection of her calm spirit, her plants a testament to her patience and care. She loved butterflies—those delicate, dancing reminders that transformation is possible and that joy can be fleeting, but also endless. And she wore purple like it was a crown, regal and radiant, just like her.
Now she’s with the loved ones who passed before her, wrapped in peace, reunited in spirit. But her presence is not gone—it lives in every bloom, every ripple of water, every purple sky at dusk.
We will carry her with us—in memory, in tradition, in the way we love each other a little deeper because of her. Thank you, Aunt Shirley, for showing us how to love, how to lead, and how to live fully rooted in grace.
You are deeply missed and forever cherished.
