Solomon I. Wright's Obituary
Deacon Solomon Israel Wright was born on March 9, 1964, in Newark, Ohio. He was called from labor to reward on February 24, 2024. He was the second son and was the sixth of ten children born to the late Senior Bishop Isaiah I. Dew and Advanced Senior Mother Mildred Mable Wright. Deacon Solomon Wright was born in The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, where he worshiped in Ohio, Chicago, IL and Dallas, TX.
Solomon (Solly-Rock) loved all people and never met a stranger. He was a spiritual man who loved God and the House of Jacob and would often say “Life is Good.” His smile was contagious with a rambunctious laugh that traveled loud and far. Well known for his philosophical ways, he enjoyed talking to people and challenging anyone who was up for a good debate. He had a keen sense of awareness about current events, he was a self educator and loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
He is an alumni of BESA ‘The Bethlehem Elementary School’, and upon graduating from Thornton High School, he continued his studies in engineering at Thorton community college. At the age of 27 he moved to Texas where he began his life with former wife Eldress Sharlette Jackson-Wright for 28 years and from this union 3 girls were born. To know him was to know “The Girls” were his pride and joy.
He was a good provider and a devoted employee at Texas Instrument for over 24 years. Mostly working in Thin-Film, as a lead technician, he was admired and loved by many departments because of his ability to direct, influence and advise. Due to his outstanding achievements he was promoted to Process Technician in 2022, leaving the night shift and switching to days, he leaves behind fond memories with dedicated and cherished coworkers.
Deacon Solomon I. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, Senior Bishop Isaiah and Advanced Senior Mother Mildred Wright, his sister, Ms. Rachel I. Wright Martin, his grandson Jahmel Frederick Wright and his sister Senior Mother Arabella Wright.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Julia Jasmine-Nicole Wright, Sister Taylor Grace Wight, and Tylissa Joy Wright. His grandchildren Jahlil Reshon Wright, Ermias Isaiah Wright Griffin and Saniya Love Wright Griffin. His siblings, Elderess Selah E. Bynum, Mr. Isaiah Israel Wright, Jr., Ms. Ollie S. Wright, Sister Melba R. Wright (Bro. Raymond Hill), Sister Melita I. Webb (Deacon Ethan Webb), Brother David I. Wright (Sister Shantell Wright), and Sister Salome F. Wright (Mustafa Ab-Salaam) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, along with his lifelong best friend Mr. Keith Walton.
