Thoi Brown's Obituary
Thoi Brown, also known as Mama Thoi or Mrs. Thoi, age 77, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 15, 2023. She was born on October 24, 1946, in Thailand and was the oldest of 8 children. She married her one true love and love of her life, John “Johnny” or “JB” H. Brown Jr., a U.S. Airman, on September 1, 1969, in Thailand (54 years). They had three beautiful daughters together. In 1972, she moved to the United States as a military wife and mother. They lived in Louisiana and Belgium before settling in Texas after her husband retired from the U.S. Air Force. She lived in San Angelo, TX until July 2023 when she moved to Mansfield, TX with her youngest daughter and family.
Thoi never met a stranger. From the moment you walked through her front door, she considered you a friend or family. She loved cooking, feeding, and taking care of others. She enjoyed entertaining and being around those she loved. She had a heart of gold and a lifetime of love to give. If she had it and you needed it, it was yours.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jackie Brown Jackson, (June) of San Angelo, TX, Jenny Brown of Austin, TX, and Regina Brown Williams (Willie) of Mansfield, TX, with whom she resided with; six granddaughters; six grandsons; six great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; four sisters, three brothers, four brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law in Thailand; one sister-in-law, Regina Brown Mitchell (Garry) of Durham, NC, and a host of cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Rose Bootnien, and her husband John Henry Brown, Jr.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Fresenius Kidney Care in San Angelo, DaVita Mansfield Dialysis Center and Modern Medical House Calls in Mansfield for their kindness and professionalism as they cared for Thoi, including family and friends for their support and love for her. There will be a public burial ceremony at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211) on Fri, January 5, 2024, at 0930, where she will be reunited and laid to rest with her beloved John. Please feel free to share a memory on her tribute wall for the family. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund as the cemetery is limiting the family to two arrangements.
