Vickie McWhirter's Obituary
Vickie Lynell Farmer McWhirter of Burleson, TX passed peacefully from this world into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 26, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. From her birth on June 10, 1958 to her death, she took pride in attending to the needs of people around her with love and laughter.
Vickie was born to Derrell Lee and Jynell Farmer. She graduated from Merkel high school in 1976. Vickie worked 20 years in the Mansfield school district as a job coach, helping special needs students develop life skills. She took pride in her job and was an advocate for all her students. Vickie helped hundreds of students over the years gain independence and the ability to support themselves.
Vickie was fierce in her love for her family and friends. If Vickie liked you, you were “precious.” If she loved you, she loved you “to the moon and back.” There were also numerous “bless your heart” statements thrown in. Vickie lived her life out loud, and she handled the last year with grace and dignity, determined to get the most out of the time she had left. While her passing will forever leave a huge void in our lives, we are comforted by the fact she is resting in the arms of the angels.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Derrell Lee Farmer of Merkel, TX. Left to honor Vickie and remember her love, kindness, gentleness, and sincere heart are her mother Jynell Farmer of Abilene, TX, her husband, Terry McWhirter of Burleson, TX; her daughter Heather Thompson and husband Shane of Burleson, TX; her son Justin McWhirter of Burleson, TX; Ashlee Stuckwish of Mansfield, TX; her sister, Gina Farmer of Mansfield, TX; her brother Kevin Farmer and his wife Delia of San Angelo, TX; her grandchildren, Treyce McWhirter, Kaylee McWhirter, Bristol Thompson, Brooklynn Thompson and Huntir Thompson; her nephews Brandon Farmer and wife Shelby; Blake Farmer and wife Tabitha of San Angelo, TX, ; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
