William and I have known each other for over 30 years. We served together in the USAF at Dyess AFB mostly on the C130s, but also the B1. We shared many laughs on many subjects during this time. The one thing he taught me was to "follow-up", if I heard this once from him, I heard it a thousand times. My wife nicknamed him "Smittyman", and when she called him by this name it brought a smile to his face. Smittyman loved people, especially his family. RIP Chief/Smittyman, until we meet again.
I worked with Smitty on the C-130's @ Dyess. He was a great team mate and loved his family. I know that he and Edith had a grand Heavenly reunion! RIP Chief!
