Yolanda Serrano's Obituary
Yolanda Serrano passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 11:47AM, surrounded by her loving family in Arlington, TX.
She was born in Managua, Nicaragua. She had a strong work ethic, proudly working as an administrator for the Office of Social Security until resettling in the United States making New York City, New York her new home. Yolanda married, David Serrano, in 1979 and after his passing retired following many hard-working years as an assembly line worker and moved to Arlington, TX to be with her family.
She devoted her life to her beloved family members; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, sisters, and the many friends she held in her heart.
A faithful Baptist who trusted in God and knew in her heart the promise of eternal life in heaven. A cherished and loving family member and friend who leaves behind wonderful memories that will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Yolanda was also an avid traveler with a passion for exploring new places, A huge foodie who enjoyed dining out and cheering on her favorite baseball team, The Texas Rangers. She will be remembered for many things, most notably, her independence, vigorous zest for life and tireless energy.
Yolanda is survived by her nieces; Gloria Arevalo and nephew-in-law Maxwell Zavala of Cedar Hill, TX; Argentina Caldera and nephew-in-law Omar Hernandez of Union City, New Jersey; Yesenia Arevalo and nephew-in-law Rodolfo Gomez and their children, Madelyn, Rodolfo Jr, and Gabriel of Arlington, TX. Nephews; William Arevalo and niece- in-law Alba Marrero and his child, Wren Arevalo of Mansfield, TX; Giancarlo Arevalo and niece-in-law Ingrid Arevalo and their children, Ingrid and Samantha of Mansfield, TX. Sisters; Gloria Arevalo and Argentina Lopez of Cedar Hill, TX.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her husband David Serrano, her father Jose Ildefonso Lopez, her mother Maria Palma, and her brothers Augusto and Alfonso Lopez.
A public “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10:00a - 1p at Mansfield Funeral Home followed by the interment ceremony at Skyvue Memorial Gardens in Mansfield, TX.
