Yvonne Claudette Bristol's Obituary
Yvonne Bristol lovingly known as Claudette or Lala, age 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 5th, 2023. Born Yvonne McLean on September 9th, 1951, she was the eldest of 10 children and a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.
Yvonne was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. She attended primary school at Peters Hall, Providence and Campbell’s Academy. After her early education she attended Carnegie School of Home Economics where she learn many of her wonderful cooking and crafting skills.
At the age of 20, she followed in her father’s footstep and joined the Guyana Police Force as a Special Constable and in July 1972, she became a regular member of the Police Force. After leaving the Police Force, Yvonne worked with GEB and other organizations, but her most rewarding job was mother and grandmother.
Yvonne migrated to the United States in 2016 and settled in Mansfield, Texas. She worked for the Mansfield Independent School District as a bus attendant serving children with special needs. A job she enjoyed until her passing. She was passionate about serving the Lord. Prior to attending Bethlehem Church of God in Christ, she was a member of Eccles Assembly of God Church and Rhem Cornerstone in Guyana.
She will be sadly missed by her children Amanda, Michael, Mayonne and Eifion. Grandmother of Sydney, Emani, Micah, Emmanuel and Emma. Mother-in-law of Eon and Fannis. Sister of Ingrid, Edward (Cheryl), Marjorie, Ann, Rodwell( Grace), Roger (Jennifer), Lenny (Dawn) and Nuru Sonia (Paul). Aunt of Marcia, Mark, Michelle, Shannon, Andy, Ceilí, Candy, Theo, Roderick, Jhamal, Rhonda, Eric, Winston Jr., Joshua, Jonathan, Kevin, OK Joshua, Jocelyn, Justin, JoyAnne, Elijah, Joel and Houston. Great Aunt of Maya, Marissa, Sarah, Tatiana, Mark Jr., Nevaeh, Saxton, Aden, Zarah, Hannah, Jazaria, Ricardo, Roderick Jr. and “King” Hezekiah.
Niece of Lela George. Adopted sisters Waxie Garnes and Carmen Favorite. A host of cousins. Relative of Daphne Andrews, The Francois’, Lee’s, Peterson’s, George’s, Blackman’s, Chung’s, Benfield’s, Bristol’s, Lyttle’s, Kingston’s, ChinChan’s, Thomas’, Simon’s Mansfield’s, Yearwood’s’, Moreira’s, Gonzales’, Leon’s, Cort’s, Alma Torres and Family. Her dear friend Miss Cynthia Robinson.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents Yvonne and Rudolph McLean, Husband Stonewall Bristol and brother Selwyn “Captain”McLean.
Yvonne lovingly known as Aunty Claudette will be greatly missed for her distribution of daily devotions, prayers and most of all her loving heart.
