Melanie Gulley's Obituary
Melanie Fox Gulley, age 58, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 28, 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 2, at Mansfield Funeral Home with John W. Salzman,Jr. officiating.
Melanie was born on January 11, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Betty and Weldon Fox. Â She was raised in a loving Christian home with her older sister, Jalayne. Â She graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1972. Â She was married to Doug Gulley at the time of her death. Â She affectionately called him "the love of her life". Â Â Melanie had 3 children-Heather, Tony and Hayley and three grandchildren James, Mason and Noah who were the recipients of her generous heart, laughter and smiles. Â She loved to take her children when they were little to deliver Meals on Wheels. Â Because she loved the Lord with all her heart, she shared her servant's heart with the Grand Prairie Crisis Pregnancy Center, Summit Senior Citzens Center and area churches. Â She was very active in the lives of all of her family, particularly her children and grandchildren. Â At family events, you could count on hearing Melanie's laughter ringing through the house. Â One of her favorite things to do with her grandchildren was to take them to Joe Pool Lake to feed the fish. Â Melanie loved the color blue and the ocean. Â She often wondered how anyone could see the majesty, power and beauty of the sea and not believe in God. Â Her love for her Lord and for her family was evident in everything she did. Â Her desire was that everyone she met would see Jesus in her life. Â She was truly the hands and feet of Jesus. Â There are many words that describe Melanie: Â kind, gregarious, loving, generous, and unselfish to name a few. Â Numerous lives have been positively impacted by Melanie. Â She was a giving, loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, always willing to give of her time and herself to others. Â It was easy to see how much she loved her Heavenly Father by the way she chose to live her life each day.
