Nan, daughter of Joe and Ruth Breed, was born September 26, 1938 in Houston, Texas. She spent her childhood in Anson, Texas and graduated from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado in 1978, Magna Cum Laude; earned her post-graduate teacher certification and began her K-3 teaching career in Chapel Hill, Texas in 1983; and retired in 1997 from Dallas ISD. More recently, Nan became a devoted Tarrant County Master Gardener, Ft. Worth Rose Society Member, and member of the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield. Nowhere has Nan's love been more joyfully reciprocated than in the magical relationship she created with each of her two granddaughters: both enjoyed a unique and special bond with their “Nana.” She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
