Dr. Akinniran Oladehin's Obituary
Dr. Akinniran Oladehin, 72, of Mansfield, Texas passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021. He was born in Idanre, Nigeria on January 1, 1949.
Dr. Oladehin is survived by his wife of 46 years, Folake Oladehin; his children, Iyabo of Palatine, IL; Mojisola of Dallas, TX; Olawale of Adams, MA; and Olakunle of West Orange, NJ; his daughters-in-law, Ashley and Ivy; and his two grandsons, Tobi and Jaxon. He is also survived by his brother Fred Oladehin and sisters Julianna and Adenike. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ogunyanmodi and Adedute Aderulure Oladehin, sisters Emily and Bolanle.
He retired as the Department Head of Department of Physical Therapy and Graduate Faculty in 2014 from Missouri State University. Prior to that, he was a Professor at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Assistant Professor at Wayne State University.
Dr. Oladehin received a Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Therapy from New York University in 1983. He was an avid reader and was well known for his passion for teaching and inspirational words.
Instead of funeral services, a celebration of his life will take place on September 18, 2021 at the Community of Hope United Methodist Church in Mansfield, TX. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with.
