A good golf partner and a great friend. This stubborn German will be missed.
I met Al through friends. I sat next to him at church on Saturday nights until the virus closed the church in March. Our group went out to dinner every Saturday night after 5pm mass, and Al would always ask me if I would like a ride to the restaurant. We laughed and talked the entire ride to the restaurant and talked more when he took me back to my car at the church. I felt like I had known him my entire life. He was a joy to be around and was always smiling. I am so lucky I had the chance to spend that time with him. I'm sorry I will be out of town and cannot attend his services. God bless him and his family, I will miss him dearly. Diane Dillon
Al was a great guy. He will be missed but not forgotten,
It has been so wonderful to hear all the trubutes to my father! He was such a good human being that it does not suprise me at all at how much he was loved by others and how many lives he touched. As for me, he was the only man I ever loved (besides my husband) he was the first and now the last. He & my mother taught us all how to be good human beings and how to love. I will miss him forever and I will always remember how to love, how to do the right thing, how to laugh and most importantly how to show others what he taught me.
Your Uncle John Robert and I last had a visit from Al, along with his sister, Elaine and brother, Bobby on May 14, 2018. We had lunch and visited with John Robert and Emily's sister, Kathleen, at the nursing home. Al had been able to visit with her on the afternoon before she passed away that night.. We were so happy for the timing of that visit. John Robert and I had had the opportunity to visit a couple times during Emily's illness and found him to be a very special caregiver. Soon after he and Lois were married, they came to visit and introduce us. We were pleased and found her to be a very nice lady. You may not have known that your Uncle John Robert passed away on March 24, 2019. Being so many miles between Orangeburg, SC and Mansfield, TX, visits were few and far between but it was always a pleasure to spend time with your dad. You will miss him dearly. There are so many nice things to be said about Al but we know the most important is that he was a Christian and has a heavenly home.
My love and deepest sympathy to each of you.
Your Aunt Loretta
Pops,
I'm so sorry to see you're gone. I'll miss you. Thank you for always being there. You and Mimi always showed up to my soccer, volleyball games, cross country and track meets, all the school plays and Grandparents day. Thank you for always making my sisters and I laugh at your goofy jokes or messing with Mimi, calling me for every birthday singing even after Mimi passed. I'm sorry I wasn't able to come see you this year but glad we kept in contact. Thank you for loving my Mimi and loving her well.
Al, the world will miss you. A kinder man I have never met. Always with a smile on your face when you took my money at golf and your favorite saying "good things happen to good people". Sorry we couldn't be there for you as you were with Emily and Lois. 2020 will be remembered as you will be. Hope too see you in heaven.
Rest in peace,
Pat and Judy Rabjohn
