Charles R. Thompson's Obituary
Mr. Charles Reginald Thompson was born in Fort Worth, TX on August 25, 1957, to the parents of Charlie Thompson and Mary Louise Sanders. He passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Thursday September 08, 2022, at Community Healthcare of Texas, Fort Worth Texas.
Charles Thompson, affectionately known as “Coach,” received his education at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, TX. From there he further his studies at Prairie View A&M University. Charles served 11 years in the United States Army, Honorably Discharged as Sergeant Thompson. Coach Thompson returned to Fort Worth, TX and worked as an English teacher in several schools and coached all sports for over 15 years.
Coach Thompson was cheerful, smart, and loved his New Life church family and was loved by his church family. He served faithfully in the Children’s ministry, Vacation Bible School, Community outreach, and the Men’s ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Phyllis Thompson of Austin, TX and brother Britt Thompson (Joanna), Dallas, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
