My grandfather always had time for talking and debating over everything with me. He always had unique perspectives that helped test what you believed. I will miss how sharp he was and how he always wanted to learn to teach others.

Cliff and I became friends at R&L Carriers. A job we both retired from. Cliff was a pretty quiet man but once I cracked through that shell we became friends immediately. It didn’t take long to know Cliff was a good person. I don’t think we ever complained about anything to each other. In life sometimes you just need someone to talk to and other times you need a friend that understands. You know our disappointments are God’s appointments. He watches over us to get us through the rain. Now he’s got another helper. Save me a place my brother. I’ll see you again. Rest in peace. Earl. 🙏
I am writing this in middle of night. Cliff and I were best buddies as kids and into our adult life. I helped him feed the chickens on his dad's farm. I rode with him in his dad's old truck where he scared the heck out of me taking those ozark mountain road curves at break neck speed. We ran away together in his Rambler station wagon heading to California but had to turn back in Utah. He went back to school and I joined the Army at 17 years old. He loved cigars even in high school where we would go behind the agri building him smoking cigars at lunch time. Of course his love of cigars continued into his truck driving career. I rode with him many times. He got his start driving as a milk man in Ft. Worth and taught himself how to drive their semi trucks. I have many many stories about us. Wish I could list them all! I knew Judy his first wife and his daughters when they were little babies. Spent time with them even went to church with them. I love that guy.
In memory.
