Glorious Jean Boyd was born in Memphis Tennessee to Andy Wesly Boyd and Louella Boyd on December 24th,1944. Glorious went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2021.
Glorious' early years were spent in her hometown of Memphis Tennessee where she was the second oldest of 10 children and helped lovingly look after her brothers and sisters. She later in life went on to Memphis State University and the University of Tennessee where she received her Bachelor's degree and a Master's in Social Work. While furthering her education, Glorious gave birth to her two wonderful daughters Karen Thomas and Pamela Holmes-Tyler.
After 11 years in social work for Memphis, TN, Glorious soon made her way to sunny Southern California where she would later retire after 40 years of service as a Deputy Director of Children and Family Services for Orange County California.
Glorious' dedication to service was fueled by her desire to serve and love her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a member of the Artesian Well Church, Glorious was known as a woman of great wisdom, a powerful intercessor, and a ministry leader. She would also gain the title of Spiritual Mother to Theresa A. Miller and her two daughters Glennis Seldon and Olenda Scott and Godmother to Samuel Harris. She went on to become an Elder and Trustee at Artesian Well Church under the leadership of James P. Norman Jr. and ended her service there as the Dean of Students at Zahar Christian University. Her love for education also led her to receive a Doctorate in Christian Leadership from Zahar Christian University. After Glorious’ move to Texas in 2005, she fellowshipped with Triumph In Truth Church under the Pastoral leadership of Gary Simons, where she remained a faithful member until her transition.
Glorious had many titles but one of her greatly cherished titles was "Grammy".
