Melvin Doyle Harrington's Obituary
“God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, ‘Come to Me.’ With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away…God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.”
Mr. Melvin Harrington was loved by many. He was called home on February 12th at the young age of 84. Mel is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife: Yvonne Harrington; daughter: Sharon Stagg; brother: Chuck Harrington; grandchild: Jason Frederick; and his parents John Harrington and Inez Rainwater. Mel retired from the United States Air Force and the United States Postal Service. He served many years as a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Arlington and traveled around the world with his wife, alongside the Cedar Creek Lakers RV club. He was loved by many and was a well-respected man of God. All who met him enjoyed his company and he always knew how to make you smile with his jokes. He loved golf, playing games, and putting on funny skits with their travel club. We will miss you Poppie!
