Sam J. Williams' Obituary
Samuel Jerome Williams was born March 19, 1971 in Montgomery, Alabama to Charlie and Annie D. Williams. He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. Samuel attended St. Jude Educational Institute and graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama in 1989. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Alabama A&M University and a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Samuel served his country faithfully as an officer in the United States Army. He was a devoted educator and assisted in helping students achieve their goals as a Coordinator of Multicultural Affairs/Assistant Dean for the College of Arts and Architecture at The Pennsylvania State University, an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Texas Christian University, and a science teacher in the Arlington, TX and Crowley, TX independent school districts. He was actively involved as a coach in the Mansfield Pee Wee Football Association for several years and was an active member of the Fort Worth Epsilon Alpha chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Incorporated.
Samuel J. Williams departed this earthly world on March 23, 2017 in Mansfield, Texas at the age of 46.
Samuel enjoyed living life to the fullest with great compassion, sympathy, and service for others. He loved his family, friends, fraternity, and The University of Alabama football. He enjoyed traveling the world and driving fast cars and motorcycles. His last joy was spending his birthday weekend with family and friends in Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Lee Williams, step-father Frank McCall, Jr., mother Annie DeLois McCall, and two sisters: Angela L. Williams and Barbara Perkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of twenty-three years, Melissa; three sons Jonathon Williams-Jackson (Columbus, GA), Malik Williams (Tuscaloosa, AL), and Mikal Williams (Mansfield, TX); two daughters Shienne Williams (Austin, TX), and Sámone Williams (Mansfield, TX); one grandson, Jayden Jackson (Columbus, GA); two brothers Bertram (Patricia) Williams (Jacksonville, FL), and Frank (Lavada) McCall (Panama City, FL); three sisters Cynthia Brown (Montgomery, AL), Angela (Ben) Sims (Montgomery, AL), and Charlotte (Samuel) Sanders (Montgomery, AL); father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Joycelyn Peterson (Montgomery, AL); brother-in-law James E. Peterson II (Montgomery, AL); sister-in-law Michelle Peterson (Montgomery, AL) along with a host of relatives and friends.
